A New Year, A Fresh Chapter

by Shabnam Monzavi

The start of a new year always invites reflection. A soft reset. A moment to pause between what’s been and what’s next. And as we step into this year, we’re taking a look back at the lessons we gathered along the way, especially the ones about balance… or more honestly, the lack of it.

Last year was full. Busy. Chaotic. Stretching. Beautiful and exhausting in equal measure.

What last year really taught us

Balance isn’t something you “arrive” at.
We used to think balance was a destination, something you unlock once you’ve figured it all out. Last year made it clear that balance is fluid. It changes week to week, season to season. Some days work needs more of you. Other days life does. And sometimes, neither gets your best, and that has to be okay too.

You can love what you do and still feel overwhelmed by it.
Running a small business means your heart is in everything - the wins, the decisions, the late nights, the stress. There were moments where passion powered us forward, and moments where we had to admit we were tired. Loving your work doesn’t cancel out burnout. Acknowledging both made us better.

Growth often asks for trade-offs.
Scaling brought exciting opportunities, but it also demanded more time, more focus, more energy. There were weekends blurred into weekdays, inboxes that never quite emptied, and mental load that followed us home. Growth asked us to be honest about what we could handle, and what we needed help with.

Routine can be grounding when things feel chaotic.
Some days, the simplest rituals held us together. Lighting a candle in the studio before production started. A quiet morning cup of coffee before the rush. Small moments of calm became anchors in the busiest seasons.

Where balance fits now

If last year taught us anything, it’s that balance doesn’t mean doing less, it means being more intentional. Choosing where our energy goes. Learning when to push and when to pause. Letting go of the idea that everything needs to happen at once.

We’re carrying that mindset into this year with us.

More boundaries that protect creativity.
More realistic timelines that leave room to breathe.
More honesty about the messy middle of building something you care about deeply.

We’re still learning. Still adjusting. Still figuring out what balance looks like in real time. And that’s part of the journey we want to be open about.

Here’s to a new year of steady growth, thoughtful choices, and giving ourselves permission to evolve. To finding moments of calm in the chaos. To embracing the work, the learning, and everything in between.

Thank you for being here with us, for supporting a business built on warmth, intention, and community. We can’t wait to see what this next chapter holds. 🖤
